Board-end vs Cable-end Guide
Important: Ensure you select the correct connector type for your application.
Board-end Connectors:
Mount directly to PCB with solder pins or surface mount pads. Used for permanent installation on circuit boards.
Cable-end Connectors:
Attach to coaxial cables via crimp or solder methods. Used for creating cable assemblies and jumpers.
Reverse Polarity SMA
Board-mount RP-SMA connectors feature reversed gender contacts compared to standard SMA. The male RP-SMA has a center pin while the female has a socket, opposite to standard SMA configuration.
Commonly used in WiFi modules, wireless routers, and consumer wireless devices to prevent accidental connection of incompatible equipment. Available in both edge-mount and through-hole configurations.
